Community Guidelines

QuoteIt is a place for thoughts, feelings, reflections, and real-life experiences.
People may come here to share joy, confusion, growth, loneliness, memories, heartbreak, motivation, regret, or simply something they learned from life.
We want QuoteIt to remain a space where people can express themselves honestly without making others feel unsafe.
1. Share Experiences, Not Harm
QuoteIt encourages honest expression.
You are welcome to share:
- Personal thoughts
- Emotions
- Life experiences
- Lessons you have learned
- Reflections
- Memories
- Relationships and friendship experiences
- Career and education experiences
- Failures and successes
- Motivation
- Difficult feelings
- Anonymous reflections
- Respectful opinions
You do not have to be positive all the time.
Sadness, anger, confusion, loneliness, regret, and heartbreak are all valid human experiences.
But expressing an emotion is different from using the platform to harm someone else.
2. Respect Other People
Do not use QuoteIt to harass, intimidate, humiliate, or repeatedly target another person.
- Personal attacks
- Repeated unwanted targeting
- Threatening messages
- Coordinated harassment
- Encouraging others to attack someone
- Deliberately humiliating someone
- Posting private information to embarrass or harm them
Disagreement is allowed. Abuse is not.
3. Anonymous Does Not Mean Without Responsibility
Anonymous posting exists so people can express experiences they may not feel comfortable attaching publicly to their profile.
It must not be used as a shield for abuse.

- Do not spread deliberately harmful accusations
- Do not reveal private information
- Do not impersonate another person
- Do not repeatedly target individuals
- Do not evade moderation
Anonymous posts remain internally connected to the account that created them.
4. Do Not Threaten or Encourage Serious Harm
Content that seriously threatens, promotes, or encourages violence or physical harm may be removed.
This includes credible threats against individuals, groups, schools, workplaces, communities, or public places.
5. Do Not Share Private Information About Others
Respect people's privacy.
Do not publish sensitive personal information about another person without authorization.

- Personal phone numbers
- Private email addresses
- Passwords
- Bank details
- Government identification numbers
- Identity documents
- Private medical information
- Precise private location information
- Intimate images shared without consent
6. No Impersonation
Do not pretend to be another person in order to deceive users.
You may not impersonate another QuoteIt user, a public figure, a company, an organization, a government authority, or QuoteIt staff.
7. No Hate or Dehumanizing Abuse
QuoteIt should not be used to attack people because of who they are.
Content may be removed when it seriously attacks, dehumanizes, threatens, or promotes violence toward people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other legally protected characteristics.
8. Sexual Exploitation and Non-Consensual Intimate Content
Do not post or distribute:
- Non-consensual intimate images
- Sexual exploitation material
- Sexual content involving minors
- Content intended to sexually exploit another person
- Threats to release someone's intimate material
9. Protect Children and Young People
QuoteIt does not allow content that sexually exploits, grooms, or endangers minors.
- Do not request sexual material from minors
- Do not groom minors
- Do not share sexual images involving minors
- Do not encourage sexual exploitation of minors
- Do not facilitate abuse of children
10. Self-Harm and Difficult Emotional Experiences
QuoteIt recognizes that users may write about depression, loneliness, grief, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or other difficult experiences.
People are allowed to talk about what they are going through.
However, QuoteIt may restrict or remove content that actively encourages suicide or self-harm, pressures another person to harm themselves, or provides harmful instructions.
QuoteIt is not an emergency or professional mental-health service.
11. No Fraud, Scams, or Deception
Do not use QuoteIt to trick people for financial or personal gain.
- Investment scams
- Fake giveaways
- Phishing
- Identity theft
- Fraudulent fundraising
- Requests for passwords or authentication codes
- Malicious links
- False claims intended to obtain money or sensitive information
12. No Malware or Security Abuse
- Do not spread malware
- Do not distribute malicious files
- Do not steal account credentials
- Do not attack QuoteIt infrastructure
- Do not circumvent security controls
- Do not exploit vulnerabilities
- Do not abuse rate limits
- Do not access another user's account without authorization
13. Spam and Manipulation
QuoteIt is intended for genuine experiences, not artificial engagement.
- Do not post large amounts of repetitive content
- Do not create accounts primarily for spam
- Do not automate fake engagement
- Do not artificially inflate Felt This reactions
- Do not manipulate Trending rankings
- Do not repeatedly post unrelated promotions
- Do not use misleading links to drive traffic
14. Copyright and Original Content
Only upload content that you have the right to share.
Do not knowingly post copyrighted images, writing, or other creative work without permission or another lawful basis.
15. Misleading Information
Personal opinions and experiences do not need to be proven like formal research.
However, intentionally deceptive content that creates a serious risk of harm may be restricted.
16. Content About Real People
You may write about experiences involving other people, but do so responsibly.
Ask yourself: “Can I tell my story without unnecessarily identifying or harming this person?”
17. Reporting Content
If you see content that may violate these Guidelines, use QuoteIt's reporting tools where available.
Please report honestly. Do not repeatedly submit false reports to target users you simply disagree with.
18. How QuoteIt Moderates
Moderation decisions may consider context, severity, risk of harm, repetition, previous violations, whether someone is being targeted, and applicable legal requirements.
QuoteIt may:
- Take no action
- Remove content
- Restrict content
- Warn a user
- Temporarily suspend an account
- Permanently ban an account
- Preserve information for security or legal reasons
19. Repeated Violations
Accounts that repeatedly violate these Guidelines may face stronger enforcement.
Severe abuse, fraud, exploitation, threats, or deliberate attempts to evade enforcement may result in a permanent ban.
20. Do Not Evade Enforcement
If your account has been suspended or banned, do not create new accounts to avoid the restriction.
21. Context Matters
Not every mention of harmful behavior violates these Guidelines.
QuoteIt may consider whether content is reporting an experience, educational, historical, satirical, fictional, seeking help, discussing recovery, or condemning harmful behavior.
22. QuoteIt Is Built Around Experiences
QuoteIt is designed around experiences and emotions rather than followers or personal networks.
Share what life made you feel without using your experience to unnecessarily harm someone else.
23. Changes to These Guidelines
These Community Guidelines may evolve as QuoteIt grows.
The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when important changes are made.
